Leah Kauffman

Leah Kauffman is a freelance science writer and one of those Pittsburgh Boomerangs you keep hearing about (natives who leave, then miss southwestern Pennsylvania's quality of life and move back). She has written for consumer health publications, annual reports, and alumni magazines, and she was the editor of UPMC Health Journal magazine. Leah has a master's degree in professional writing from Carnegie Mellon University. She and her husband are retrofitting a hundred-year-old Victorian house in Pittsburgh's East End with as many eco-friendly efficiencies as they can afford.
