Tim Palucka is a lifelong Pittsburgher who in middle age finally decided to stop talking about writing and actually do it. He is a freelance science writer/editor with a B.S. in chemistry and an M.S. in materials science, both from the University of Pittsburgh. His work has appeared in American Heritage of Invention and Technology, GeoTimes, Astronomy, the MacMillan Encyclopedia of Space Sciences, Pittsburgh TEQ, the Materials Research Society Bulletin, and Physical Review Focus. In addition to his writing career, he is the Associate Technical Editor of the Materials Research Society Bulletin. Tim is also the co-author of two books: The History of the School of Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh (2003), and the History of the Engineers' Society of Western Pennsylvania (2006). He lives in downtown Pittsburgh with his wife Connie.
